A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM AT GAVELLA


New theatre production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Aleksandar Popovski will be premiered on December 21, 2007 at the Gavella Theatre in Zagreb, Croatia. Kiril Dzajkovski wrote, arranged and produced the music for this modern adaptation of the theatre classic, which makes the 14th stage collaboration with director Popovski.

WORLD PREMIERE OF “SHADOWS”


Milcho Manchevski's "Shadows" will have the world premiere in the Special Presentation Program of the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. This is the third feature film for the award winning writer/ director after Oscar-nominated "Before the Rain" and Venice Opening film "Dust".Kiril composed additional music for the soundtrack of "Shadows".He has worked with Manchevski before in their early band BASTION, on the video project "ECU" and on "Dust", for which Dzajkovski composed and produced the music.

Special Music Award for La Capinera


La Capinera, the contemporary ballet directed by Michele Merola, wins three awards at the Purgatorije Mediterranean Theatre Festival in Tivat, Montenegro:Best Performance, Best Single Creation Award for Ashen Ataljanc and Special Music Award for Kiril Dzajkovski. La Capinera premiered in April 2007 at the Pozoriste Terazije Theatre in Belgrade, Serbia. The music for the ballet is a compilation of original film and theatre music by Kiril, as well as original music from his solo projects, which he compiled and adapted for the contemporary dance performance.The music from the ballet is available on CD through AG Records/Lithium Records and soon as digital download.

BALKANBEATS volume 2 & New Friends

Baba Zumbula, the song from the Balcancan soundtrack, for which Kiril wrote the music and director Darko Mitrevski the lyrics, featuring the vocals of Vlada Divljan is part of a new compilation released by the Eastblok record label from Berlin. The sequel to the very successful volume 1 again features an eclectic mix of Balkan music.

Kiril is working on the music for another theatre project directed by director Aleksandar Popovski, this time at the National Theatre of Northern Greece. It’s a modern play written by Greek writer Elena Penga, titled New Friends. It will be premiered on the 3rd of November at the small theatre of Moni Lazariston in Thessalonica.

17/12/2005 Taksirat Music Festival, Skopje, MacedoniaKiril is working on the music for a new theatre project with director Aleksandar Popovski, this time at the SNG drama Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The play titled " For Now Nowhere" is written by Ana Lasic and will be premiered on the 16/17th of December at the Slovensko Narodno Gledalisce in Ljubljana.

The movie Balcancan directed by Darko Mitrevski, for which Kiril wrote the soundtrack will be premiered in Slovenia on the 6th of December at the Kolosej Cinema Complex. The soundtrack is distributed in Slovenia and Croatia by Dallas Records.

Balcancan, directed by Darko Mitrevski opened in Macedonia in February. Kiril wrote and produced the soundtrack for the film, including the single Baba Zumbula, featuring the voice of Vlada Divljan and lyrics by Darko Mitrevski. Kiril has completed the soundtracks for two feature films this year.

The first one was THE GREAT WATER, directed by Ivo Trajkov, which is going to be premiered at the AFI International Film Festival in Los Angeles, held between 04-14.11 2004. The Great Water will be screened on the 12 th and 13 th of November.

Kiril wrote the music for three theatre performances this year, all of them directed by Aleksandar Popovski. THREE SISTERS by A.P. Chehov, at the National Theatre in Bitola, TEMPEST by W. Shakespeare at the Turkish Drama in Skopje and ALISA by B. Srbljanovic at the Atelje 212 in Belgrade.

Stojne Bre Mome Kocansko, Kiril's track that was featured on the Putumayo Records compilation EUROLOUNGE is out on another compilation. This time is the Barramundi series titled Together released by Pschent Music from Paris. This compilation includes artist such as: Andy Horace(Massive Attack), Tosca(Kruger & Dorfmeister), Jose Padilla, etc.
In August, as part of the Orestiadi di Gibellina Arts Festival in Sicily, the theatre performance DANTON'S DEATH was premiered. Kiril wrote the music for performance, which was directed by Aleksandar Popovski and will have its Roman premiere in February, 2004.



DUST, the film directed by Milcho Manchevski, opened in theatres in New York and Los Angeles. Read the review from LA Times.

At the moment, Kiril is finishing the soundtrack for the feature film THE GREAT WATER, directed by Ivo Trajkov.

Two new CD compilations will include tracks by Kiril. One is titled TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS and it's out in the UK as a mix CD and LP vinyl featuring among others Bushwacka's remix of Kiril's track PRIMITIVE SCIENCE.This compilation is out on 10 KILO label from London. The other one is going to be out soon on New York based label PUTUMAYO RECORDS and it's titled EURO LOUNGE. Kiril's track included on this compilation is the remix of VANJA LAZAROVA's STOJNE BRE MOME KOCANSKO.

Kiril will compose the soundtrack for a new movie titled THE GREAT WATER directed by Ivo Trajkov. Shooting has just finished on locations in Macedonia and post production will be completed in Prague.

Another project that Kiril will write the music for is the new directorial project by Aleksandar Popovski for the National Theatre in Belgrade.
